Your : Your father needs a follow up visit with the orthopedist if the treatment is not working. I am sure he had x-rays, he also should have an MRI of his hips if that was not done. Also he should see his primary doctor to investigate other possible causes ( rheumatoid arthiritis, lupus, etc). Best of luck.
