I cut tip of my finger on the 4th and at the er they glued the skin around the cut/placed a splint and bandaids on it. i was told to not submerge it in water. i would like to know if i can wash it bc it smells. no signs of infection/other concern?

Usually we recommend changing the initial dressing after 48 hours. How long did you keep it on? Thereafter, clean with soap and water, pat dry,apply a thin layer of antibacterial ointment and rebandage daily. It's a good idea to have your physician check the wound at this time and advise you.
