Family history, overweight, high cholesterol,high BP are risk factors. Smoker? ?high LDL?low HDL. I recommend consulting a registered dietician to get ideal weight goal, ideal daily calorie intake&critique his eating habits. Low salt diet, low alcohol&caffeine intake.. An HgbA1c & EKG and treadmill stress test are good screening tests. Strive for BP of 130/80 or lower.
