Will glasses help visual acuity if you have optic neuritis?

Glasses typically help for myopia or hyperopia (near and farsighted due to abnormal lens) because glasses changes how light enters through our lens. Unfortunately optic neuritis is the inflammation of the nerve and affects all visual information downstream. If related to MS, treatment for the MS would best help visual acuity

Active acute optic neuritis will not respond to using eyeglasses or contact lenses but does improve with steroids or ACTH. A neurologist or ophthalmologist can readily treat this
