First, be sure that the sunglasses you are wearing have the proper UV protection and they fit you properly with large enough lenses to cover your eyes. Sports sunglasses with lens that wrap partially around are even better. Also, wear a hat with a visor…and stay in the shade as much as possible.

The best sunglasses are those with UV protection and also cover the side of eyes. The glasses that wrap around.

I'm giving you a simple answer, without trying to play "wonder doc". They do have sunglasses that block 99-100% uva and uvb light. If you like, you may wear them! Do I wear them every time I go out? No! When it's sunny out, I will wear "sunglasses" (no special type). I try to be reasonable when it comes to my life. Unless you have a reason that you're at higher risk; enjoy the world's beauty.

Make certain your sunglasses block 100% of UV-A & UV-B rays. Wear a broad-brimmed hat to block direct rays of sunlight from hitting your eyes (& face). Woven straw ones allow air to circulate so your head isn't constantly sweating.

Wear a hat and put black eye grease under eyes like baseball players do. Try VASOLINE also.
