There is nothing to concern if it is asymptomatic. It is more common in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women because the leiomyoma begins to degenerate at this time and fatty degeneration is seen, hence the name lipoleiomyoma. The prevalence of leiomyoma increases with age during the reproductive years and this benign tumor usually shrinks will degenerate (shrink) in postmenopausal years.
