Your posted comments about a stool sample and "inflammatory" levels do not present a clear picture of what you are dealing with. Interpretation of this study and other testing after a full review of his history & exam are a reasonable plan of action. I would noy assume a bad outcome based on this type of random lab report.

Celiac disease, food allergies, and CF should be considered. More details regarding any triggers, infections, presence of fever, blood in stool would be important information. There are many types of inflammation. Please provide additional specific lab findings. Watch for signs of dehydration and infection. Probiotics are often effective in promoting gut health.
