A member asked:

I need to do a frenuloctomy next week and they told me to apply on my penis a emla cream 30 minutes before the surgery but i don't understand if i need to apply it on all the penis or only on the frenulum and if i need to put a bandage on it or not?

EMLA is a cream that will anesthetize the areas to which it is applied. Consider the procedure you are going to have and apply it to the area involved with a little extra margin to be safe. This can avoid the need to inject a local anesthetic in that sensitive area. It takes a while to work, which is why the 30-minute interval is advised. Apply it too soon and the effect wares off.
