A member asked:

Very minor discomfort under right rib that is relived with tums.. what could this be? is it acid? would i benefit from taking a course of pantoprazole?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The location under the right rib is unlikely to be acid unless your stomach is not in the normal place. It is more likely to be gas in your bowel, your liver is also on the right side. You may just need to pay attention to your diet to see what you are eating to be forming gas and look to change to less gas forming diet high in fiber and vegetables. Fruit sugars may predispose to gas but healthy.
