: It is likely that yawning pinches a nerve or muscle where the pain occurs. This type of pain is usually sudden,sharp but fleeting. Since you're not having pain on other occasions,I would consider this a nuisance rather than anything serious. Your MD can examine you &amp; hopefully reassure you.
