I have symmetrical dark stripes/streaks on my upper eyelids. i think they've started to appear within the last year or so. or at least they've become much more prominent in that time. what could be causing this? what can i do about it?

I am going to be speculating about possibilities having not seen what you have and suggest if concerning to see a doctor. It is possible that the application of make up may be breaking the blood vessels because there is increase fragility of blood vessels with age. Do you have itching around your eyes? then that could be allergy and the rubbing may be breaking the blood vessels. Avoid rubbing lid.
