Hemifacial spasm: is irregular twitching or spasm of the muscles on one side of the face. The first symptom is usually an intermittent spasm of the lower eyelid muscle that can lead to forced closure of the eye. The treatment of choice is injection of botulinum toxin type A (Botox). Rec.: see a neurologist for definitive diagnosis, lab tests, imaging (MRI_MRA) and management.
