Yes it is safe to give him tylenol to reduce his fever. Depending on his age: if under 2 he will take infant tylenol drops, if over 2 but under 6 he will take child tylenol liquid. Check any other meds, including cold meds to make sure that there is not acetaminophen (tylenol) in them which could elevate the overall dose into an unsafe range.
