Check sperm count: The best test (only test actually) for a man trying to conceive is an actual sperm count. He should go to a urologist for the test.

Obesity: Obesity in women is more directly linked to infertility. In men, there may other risk factors like sleep apnea, that may decrease libido and energy.Also if is there is significant decrease in effective penis length, may cause mechanical barrier. A number of recent studies have found that , obese men tend to have lower sperm counts and less mobile sperms. Semen analysis is a relativeyl simple test.

May cause low sperm: He should do a semen analysis first - could be normal. Overweight/ obese men often have low sperm count or low sperm quality. Fat tissue converts testosterone (male hormone) into estrogen (female hormone). If his sperm is abnormal get hormone tests including testosterone and estrogen levels, if t is low and e is high tablets called aromatase inhibitors may help. Exercise & weight loss also helpful.
