I was prescribed bactrim for a uti (dr called at 12 and said to stop because no uti) i took 4 doses from thursday night to saturday morning (today @9am). can i have a few drinks tonight to celebrate a birthday? or should i wait. and if so, how long?

Alcohol is a poison that never did anybody any good, ever, so stay away from it. It will destroy your brain cells, facilitate development of cancer in many organs, including breast, cause hepatitis, cirrhosis and pancreatitis etc. There is no safe level of alcohol intake. Quit while you are ahead.

I don't recommend drinking alcohol for at least 3 days after stopping bactrim as the combination can cause much flushing as well as headache & stomach upset.
