A member asked:

Would nipple thrush pain in a breastfeeding mother generally be on both nipples? would baby also have it? i am breastfeeding and suddenly have been having clogs and pain in just one breast when breastfeeding. baby is also teething so am not sure?

Thrush could involve just one breast and the baby could also have it, but your symptoms are more suggestive of simple duct blockage with engorgement and pain. An early mastitis is also possible. In either case apply moist heat and let the baby have that breast as much as possible (definitely do NOT decrease use of that side). See a doctor if pain or redness worsens or you have a fever.
