A common definition of CP is a disorder of movement and posture due to a static(unchanging) injury to the movement centers of the central nervous system any point from pregnancy until age 3 yr. The description right hemiparesis is one applied to CP patients if it existed from an early age. An older person/adult may have this label after a stroke which would fall into a different category.
