A member asked:

Does a jaundice cause any other symptoms except yellowing of the skin and eyes?

The term Jaundice (d) is an adjective describing the yellowing of the skin and secretions of someone who has it. The disease or condition that triggers the color change (often in the liver) may have other symptoms. However, a jaundiced person may only have that as a symptom. It is a good reason to find out why.

Other symptoms depend on the cause of jaundice. Hemolytic anemia would have weakness. Hepatitis would be associated with fever, nausea, vomiting and weakness. Obstructive jaundice would have pain and itching.
