A member asked:

Husband had echocardiogram and report said sone regurgitation, otherwise normal echo. his ef was over 50%. it didn't give a specific exact percentage, which i thought they were suppose to. is the regurgitation a concern? his doctor wasn't worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

His left ventricular ejection fraction is within normal range ( over 50%) as it should pump out between one half to two thirds of its blood with each beat. Generally we see a trace regurgitation described in one,two or three heart valves in most normal people & this is probably what was described. I agree the interpreter of the echo was a little too vague in his/her conclusions. No worries here.
