I run a lot and for the last few weeks i have been getting a pain on the ball of my right foot and also numbness of toes . this eases when rested?

Pain in the ball of the foot in runners is likely due to a condition called ‘metatarsalgia’. Treatment includes: 1. Rest, elevate the foot & avoid activities that trigger/worsens the pain. 2. Ice packs to the painful area for 20 min several times a day. 3. Take acetaminophen and/or ibuprofen to help control the pain, if needed. Make sure you wear proper socks and good running shoes. If this persists it is best to be seen by an ortho or podiatrist. Hope you feel better
