A member asked:

Good afternoon doctors. is there a preferred or typical treatment for prostate cancer that is asymptomatic? if prostate cancer spreads, what are possible symptoms and treatments?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Good afternoon. Treatment of asymptomatic ca. of Prostate depends on many variables and on the clinical situations and in the modern era it is mostly asymptomatic due to early detection. There is no 'preferred' treatment which is individualized- eg surgery, radiation. When it spreads the symptoms depend on where it has spread to. Common areas are the bones and lymph nodes.
