dialysis purifies blood of a person whose kidneys have failed. Hemodialysis removes waste products such as creatinine, urea, & free water from blood when the kidneys are end stage kidney failure. Sometimes in severe prolonged dehydration leading to end stage kidney failure dialysis may be indicated. This can be temporary or permanent pending response to therapy. For mild/moderate dehydration, no.

If late dehydration that resulted in kidney damage, dialysis may be needed for as long as kidneys are unable to filter properly, otherwise majority of dehydration cases respond to vigorous hydration, sometimes though with partial kidney function recovery.

Dehydration, if extreme and prolonged can result in renal failure and require dialysis. To avoid dehydration, drink enough water daily so that your urine is mostly colorless. Wish you good health!
