My gp said my urine was positive for glucose, but the amount wasn't significant. my urologist looked at the same report & said he didn't see anything wrong. what could be the case? who's more qualified to detect glycosuria? i'm scared about diabetes?

It is either positive or negative. And both are significant. Glycosuria is a plain result which comes from the lab with result- positive or neg. So there should be no interpretation involved by either MD

It is difficult provide a meaningful opinion from the inconsistent information. If you have concern about diabetes, ask your doctor to arrange for a fasting blood/plasma glucose level. Wish you goo d health!

Any amount of glucose in urine by regular dipsticks in my opinion is worrisome& should be investigated. Specialized tests are capable of detected tiny amounts. There are some people who have a low renal threshold& will spill glucose in the urine despite normal blood glucose& no diabetes. However for the rest of us, glucose in the urine means your blood glucose was over 180 to spill glucose in urin
