Sugar leaves body: Diabetes impairs your body's ability to properly absorb and use sugar. Consequently, the sugar passes through the urine. Sugar is one of the nutrients that helps you gain and maintain body weight. So when the sugar just passes through, you lose weight.

Metabolism: When you have sugar in your urine it means that 6 hours ago your blood sugar was very high! when it happens repeatedly you get hungry and pretty soon you can't keep up with the calories lost in the urine and your metabolic rate is so high you start to lose weight without trying . It is diabetes out of control and very unhealthy and dangerous and can lead to dehydration and hospitalization.
