I have a white spot with a brown spot in the middle. it is located under my tongue towards the back on one side. i thought it was a canker sore but it won't go away. i now only hurts when i eat, drink, and sometimes when i talk. i don't smoke?

In any event, if the lesion does not resolve on its own within a two week period it needs to be examined. Please see an oral surgeon or a hospital based oral pathologist.

This could be a LEUKOPLAKIA lesion that occurs in males over 50 and lasts about 30 months. This is considered a premalignant lesion and should be biopsied. This could be an irritation but a biopsy is indicated.

As oral lesions are usually fully healed in1 days, rule of thumb is that any lesion not healed in 2 weeks requires examination and possibly biopsy. Please seee an Oral Surgeon or Oral Pathologist for evaluation.
