I was prescribed an antibiotic this past fridayand had an allergic reaction to it. i went to urgent care and was treated with benadryl. they would not treat my uti due to the other antibiotic being in my system. i need to get another prescription?

We do not prescribe medication in this forum, only giving health advice. What urgent care practitioner told you does not make sense. If you still have symptoms of UTI, you should be treated with a different antibiotic which has no cross allergic reaction to the first abx. If we know the name of the abx you are allergic to and if you have other history of allergy, we may have suggest an alternative

Pl call the MD who prescribed the original medicine, yes you can be treated with an another medicine. Drink plenty of water.
