A member asked:

My 7yrs old girl with 40kg was tested for calciumuria 2.50mmol/l, proteinuria in 24h is 127mg/d, but proteinuria per l is 205mg/l wich is over the normal, over 150mg/l. why is it high per liter, what is the meaninig? serum creatinine is 48mmol/l?

The difference is due to inaccurate total urine collection which is not a surprise because she is a kid, very difficult to measure the urine during bath, shower or toilet time. With the concentration of 205 mg/L and the total proteinuria is only 127 mg a day which means she voids only 620 cc for that day and it is for sure an under collection. A random urine protein/creatinine should be done.
