Doc thinks slipping rib. dull ache right on & below left lowest rib, radiates up & down left side. came on as sharp stabbing pain for one hour then dull ever since 8 weeks. worse w/activity better if lying flat. ruled out cardiac & gi issues. agree?

Ribs attached to the sternum with cartilage may become dislocated with sometimes un-recognized trauma and do not reattach firmly. Movement which accentuates this "non-anchored" rib will produce point tenderness and the pain described (as long as potential cardiac/GI issues have been "ruled out").

A month ago had stabbing left side chest pain thought to be indigestion. Resolved in 30 mins. Still have lingering dull cramp at left ribs. GI testing all normal. In cardiac work up next week w/ stress test. What could cause this persistent feeling?
