what causes sharp short stabbing pains in left side of chest? duration 5 sec. non exertional. can't reproduce them. pcp says heart ok. fear cardiac.

Chest pains: Regardless, could be only muscle pain. However, pain in your chest with the symptoms you have described is a serious medical condition. It is always a red flag and appointment with your PCP for re-evaluation or a cardiologist is warranted. Take care.
