A member asked:

Incidentally found 12mm high attentuating, partially exophytic, renal mass, 54hu with ct barium contrast. mri/ct iodine contrasts contraindicated. should they have been able to tell if it's solid with the barium ct? would us?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A combination of CT ultrasound and MRI should give a pretty good idea of the mass. Rarely a needle biopsy is required.
