If it has been for thirty years and not harmed you then it is probably not serious. Suggest you see an Oral/ENT MD

It is not anything serious if it has been around for 30 years. You may try using a tongue scrapper each time you brush your teeth. Visit this site for info: https://health.clevelandclinic.org/does-tongue-scraping-actually-work-and-should-i-be-doing-it/

Go see your dentist. I assume you are referring to the dorsum of your tongue, in this area of the tongue it is common to have microscopic foodstuff remnats which could explain the yellowish or whitish coloration. About 60% of the oral microbiota live in the tongue hence the reason dentist recommend cleaning the dorsum of the tongue once a day as part of your regular oral higiene habits.
