Pleva is Pityriasis Lichenoides Et varioliformis Acuta, a skin disease which often involve young adults and children. Leukocytosis (high white cell count) is present but not high esosinophil count (EOSINOPHILIA). Your child has eosinophil count of 11.9% so it is atypical unless she is allergic with something else. Biopsy of the lesion may be necessary for the correct diagnosis if it has not done.

The elevation in eosinophil count is usually associated with an allergic reaction at this age. It is more common among children with family members who have allergic disease. The skin condition may represent atopic dermatitis in addition to Pleva. Please verify with your PCP that atopic dermatitis has been ruled out. Allergy testing recommended. Watch for signs of itchiness, wheezing.
