A member asked:

What exactly does acetic acid do for internal itching of the ears?? is it supposed to moisturize? kill any bacteria that may be causing it? i've been using it for 2 months and my ears are finally beginning to be relieved of severe internal itching?

Itchy ear canals are typically caused by fungus growth in the warm moist environment. Diluted Acetic acid can be an antifungal which will reduce the itching. If you swim frequently or have very small closed ear canals, try a regular regimen of dilute acetic acid a couple of times per month to prevent future fungal outbreaks. Do not use it daily once this episode is done because it can irritate.
