Im being treated with a 30 day dose of doxycycline to treat syphilis. i had accidentally missed an entire day (2 doses) and have resumed on schedule the following day. is there anything to worry about for that lapse in treatment?

Ideally, treatment would be every day just as prescribed. It is not possible to guage risk based on a 1 day missed dose. The problem is that currently circulating strains of Syphilis hav recently developed resistance to many medications. Your best bet to eradicate any infection is to stick to the regimen closely and if it still shows no improvement or returns, to treat with a stronger med.

It is unusual to be treated with Doxy. for syphilis. One day of missed dose will not affect anything.
