I have been taking 1 mg of clonazepam daily for 18 years as prescribed by my psychiatrist. my question is, "is it just all right because many are saying that it should not be taken for long period of time." i have chronic panic disorder?

If the medication is effective for your condition you should continue to take it. People think about the addictive effect of Clonazepam which is a well known side effect but we have to use it to control your symptoms and if there is no other good alternative so you just have to accept that. Talk to your psychiatrist if you want to taper the dose provided your symptoms are under control.
