It is more likely to be an infection including EBV, Strep or COVID 19. If you have been vaccinated, the symptoms may be reduced, but testing is still indicated. Monitor temperature and breathing, drink fluids and rest. Avoid smoke exposure and if you note changes in the appearance of the inner lining of your mouth, then see a physician right away. Allergic reaction if no fever is another cause.

At your age, you are highly unlikely to have cancer of the throat. If your symptoms persist, it would be prudent to see an ENT doctor. Trying gargling with warm saline. Wish you good health!
