Ive been taking one 1mg alazopram for 4 years daily for anxiety at night, i want to get off of it but im scared to do it alone. im not a addict but my body has created a dependency for it. would tests be needed to start a taper and be monitored?

Your alprazolam is likely habituating and addictive, at this point; and you will need assistance from an experienced clinician. A slow taper will be required to be safe. Your emotional symptoms are best managed with a future program incorporating cognitive-behavioral therapy and biofeedback. Exercise and meditation would both be helpful.
