I was on ativan 0.5-1.0 mg daily for two weeks. i did not know to taper or that i would develop physical dependence. when i stopped i experienced withdrawals. have i caused permanent neurological damage?

No, not at all.: Withdrawal symptoms are unpleasant but do not cause any neurological damage.
Since you were taking a fairly low dose of Ativan, your symptoms of withdrawal should settle down without any intervention. Are you feeling better already or not?.
