What are your symptoms? Z-pak is not usually used for urethritis- which overwhelmingly occurs with cystitis. You ought to see a Urologist and might need more tests like a cystoscopy. Good luck. In the meantime drink plenty of water and use Azo (OTC) for a few days. I hope you feel better

Urethritis isn't common in women, so it's no surprise that your doctors didn't think of it. Urethritis also can be a difficult diagnosis in women, so additional exams and testing may be needed to be sure that's the problem. If urine culture shows a bacteria that typically causes UTI but in smaller than usual numbers, urethritis is possible, but azithromycin isn't usually effective against them.
