Pelvic pain could be from the pelvic joint problem such as acute arthritis or it could be a referred pain from the lower back or your knee on the same side. If you have hip pain when moving that hip in supine position (lying flat on the bed or floor), pain can be due to arthritis, strain, etc. You can take Tylenol or Motrin as needed for a couple days. See an orthopedist if no relief after 3 days.
