An.abscess is an infection that requires treatment. Gum disease has been implicated in health problems associated with all of the other organ systems. However there are literally hundreds of oral lesions, anything from a canker sore to cancer.. Please see your Dentist for a differential diagnosis and then appropriate treatment.

You need to see your dentist as soon as possible! An abcess is the consequence of an infection, if you do not treat and remove the cause of the infection your problem will not resolve and as a matter of fact it could get worse if the infection spreads to other areas of your body.
