“Autosomal recessive” means that for a child to have this disorder, both parents must have and pass along the gene mutation. If it is true, you are fortunately still survived but your kidney function is severely impaired at this time and you are either on dialysis or have transplanted kidney. If your kidneys are normal, one parent does not carry the faulty gene.
