Flip a coin: Parents give only one gene of every gene pair they have to their offspring. The non-carrier parent will only pass a normal (non-CF) gene since that is all they have. The carrier parent can pass either a CF or a normal gene. Each conception is essentially a flip of a coin (2 outcomes).You could have all non-carrier (normal), all carrier or half normal half carrier offspring.
