A member asked:

Im 22. been diagnosed with psoriasis and im prescribed costeroid creams for treatment since forever. as no other cream helps me, i have to use steroids like elocom. ive read about tsw and got scared. how to avoid it?

Topical steroid withdrawal is certainly life-changing and terribly debilitating, though uncommon. It is unclear as to who is likely to develop it and to exactly why it occurs. There are other classes of medications for psoriasis which I would encourage you to discuss with your healthcare provider, including non-steroidal meds. Best to you.
