A member asked:

Does a mri enterography always require a enema during the test? or can i just flush my system myself and drink contrast to get good picture of the colon? is there a imaging that doesn't require anything up the butt?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Examination of the colon radiographically usually entails injection of a contrast "up the butt". Do talk to your doctor to see if an MRI alone may suffice and not require contract injection from below. Drinking contrat is not a practical way to visualize cololn. Wish you good health!
