No: Unfortunately endometriosis cannot be detected with an MRI or ct scan. If your symptoms are suspicious for endometriosis, you should discuss a laparoscopy with your doctor.

It can be helpful: Mri can detect endometriosis, especially deep in the pelvis or if laparoscopic evaluation is limited by adhesions. Like all tests, it is not perfect, and can miss tiny peritoneal implants that laparoscopic evaluation would detect. See this link: http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/pubmed/19467541.

As radiologists: We can suspect endometriosis when characteristic blood filled cysts are seen. Unfortunately, radiology is not very good at making this diagnosis in the vast majority of patients who have it.
