No particular types of HIV are more or less likely to cause CNS infection, either early or late. Your negative bood test results prove you and your wife do not have HIV; and your symptoms do not suggest an HIV CNS infection anyway. Thrush is common in people without HIV and with normal immune systems. Keep working with your doctor(s) on this, but no worries about HIV. Good luck.
