No, it is not the same. Liver cancer is one of many hepatocellular diseases. Viral or alcoholic hepatitis, give example, is also one hepatocellular disease.

Agree with Dr. Le. Hepatocellular disease is not cancer. It could be damage from alcohol, obesity, gallstones, viral hepatitis, iron or copper deposition and cirrhosis etc.
