A member asked:

I have cirrhosis and hepatocellular disease.i know that cirrhosis is not reversable, but what exactly is hepatocellular disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not sure: Cirrhosis is considered the end stage of many different hepatocellular liver diseases (hepatitis, metabolic conditions, infections, alcohol, fatty liver, etc.). "hepatocellular" disease just refers to a disease that affects your liver cells (of which there are many). Whereas cirrhosis is considered irreversible, many "hepatocellular" diseases can be slowed or reversed if treated.
