The thin stem should easily pass through the esophagus, stomach & intestinal tract without any symptoms. If there's np obvious distress pointing to any of these areas, have him/her examined by the pediatrician or your family MD.

If you are certain it was a cherry stem and not another hard object, it will pass uneventfully in the stool.
